Is an American television series of horror, fantasy and romance developed by Kevin Williamson and based on the book series of the same name written by L. J. Smith. The series debuted on American television broadcaster by The CW on September 10, 2009, now completed its second season May 12, 2011.

The series follows the events in the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. A small fictional town haunted by supernatural beings. The main focus of the series is the love triangle between the protagonist, Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and brothers, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Both have a dark past. Later, the light is thrown on the mysterious past of the city, involving the ancestral maléovola Elena, Katherine, who seeks revenge against the city, the brothers and their descendant, Elena.
